Backyard Humanitarians prepare meals in the morning and/or serve lunch in the afternoon.
Backyard Humanitarian Hunger Fighters have been baking, cooking, preparing and serving meals at the New Covenant House Soup Kitchen since the fall of 2010. We learned that one thing that was missing in town was a place to get a hot breakfast. We now have a signature breakfast (for lunch or dinner) meal. Including; scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, homemade dessert, juice & coffee/tea. In the fall of 2011, we added music to our service. Local musicians began to volunteer to perform for the great audience at the soup kitchen. Music has the power to make people feel good. Our program is called BH Meals & Music.
