Start a Backyard Humanitarian Team in your Community!
Starting a Backyard Humanitarian Team in your community can be a wonderful experience.
If you like supporting and working with others, coordinating ways to help, coming up with solutions and volunteering, these are gifts you can share to inspire others. Gifts that can change someone’s life.
I loved creating and building our first team in Stamford, CT.
We started with a small group of friends and family and a first project. With more inspiration, came more projects and more people sharing their ideas and efforts. We saw how much we could do together. We saw how much it mattered to people, to us.
We've learned more about our community and how to make it a better place.
We have completed close to 200 projects and partnered with over 50 companies/teams. More than 1,000 people have volunteered thousands of hours, kids included. We have cooked and served thousands of meals. We have helped to give away thousands of bicycle helmets to kids. We have raised thousands of dollars. In 2018, we are on track to have collected and given more than 10,000 warm coats.
We have been able to offer service projects that help the community, people in need and even the people who volunteer. We have provided more ways to give. We have helped to bring more kindness, love and unity to our town and other towns.
