CT Alert ENS (Emergency Notification System)  
The CT Alert ENS uses the state’s Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) database for location-based notifications to the public for life-threatening emergencies.  But the E9-1-1 database includes only traditional wire-line telephone numbers in the state (the “land line” phone you may have in your home).  Add your cell phone and email address, as well as your home phone - Sign up here for

A not-for-profit agency, Stamford Emergency Medical Services (SEMS) is a progressive organization with the responsibility to provide pre-hospital emergency care and transport to the citizens and guests of Stamford, Connecticut

Stamford CERT
Stamford's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members are able to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community. The program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Stamford Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
The MRC program was created after President Bush’s 2002 State of the Union Address, in which he asked all Americans to volunteer in support of their country. The MRC is comprised of organized medical and public health professionals who serve as volunteers to respond to natural disasters and emergencies. These volunteers assist communities nationwide during emergencies and for ongoing efforts in public health.
