Being a part of Backyard Humanitarian is something that Robyn is very proud of. From the very first project, which was a coat drive, to the multiple projects going on today, she has watched the idea that was envisioned by Angela Malizia transition into reality. Born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, Robyn’s family history dates back to the 1800's when her Great-Grandparents settled here. She has seen many changes to the small town she once knew. Now a large city with over 120,000 people, Stamford has many citizens residing there that need support in various ways. “A lot of the people living here now don’t have family and friends they can reach out to for assistance if needed like I do. I want to help to change that.” Being a part of Backyard Humanitarian has given her opportunities to reach out while making new friends and helping to make a difference in the community she loves. “I have lived here my whole life and I couldn’t even tell a hungry young man where the soup kitchen was. Thanks to BH, now I can and I can also direct people to various other places for help as well.”
Robyn has been volunteering since she was a young girl, from school and church events to various organizations and in recent years, helping her in-law’s who ran Festa Di Ferrari Charity Concours which was a two day event in Stamford that raised money for Make-a-wish foundation, the Healing Hearts Pediatric Therapy Center, Inc. and the Marine Corps League. “I have always enjoyed helping people any way that I can. I don’t do it for anything in return, I do it because it was the way I was raised and I enjoy it.”
Robyn attended Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. She is an Entrepreneur, Realtor at the Higgins Group of Stamford and a Fitness Enthusiast/Trainer. She and her husband started Body Strong, LLC, a fitness company. They are the authors of the book, ‘Body Strong Kettlebell Blitz’, which is a beginners workout guide for kettlebells that sells world wide. Robyn continues to make her home in Stamford, where she resides with her husband, three teenage children and ABLE Bulldog, Layla.
